TBMM tarafından kabul edilen ve Cumhuriyet'in ilk anayasası olan metin — egemenliği kayıtsız şartsız millete verdi, tek meclisli sistem kurdu, devletin dininin İslam olduğu maddesi 1928'de çıkarıldı. 1961'e kadar yürürlükte kaldı.

The Republic's first full constitution, adopted by the assembly — sovereignty vested unconditionally in the nation, a single-chamber legislature, and an article naming Islam as the state religion (removed by amendment in 1928). It remained in force until 1961.
